Renewing God's House
In the spring of 2010 St. Bernard Parish will be initiating a capital campaign to fund our upcoming Building and Ground projects. These include:
1. Air conditioning system
2. Pneumatic system (internal pneumatic controls used for both
heating and cooling)
3. Roof over the offices and classroom wing
4. Parking Lot Resurfacing
Our facilities and systems at St. Bernard Parish are 40+ years old and have been well maintained. As with any equipment, there comes a time for replacement and renewal. Every homeowner at some point comes to realize that it is time to replace the roof, the furnace and hot water heater. The church is no different.
We are currently installing a new air conditioner along with pneumatic controls. The replacement of these failed systems will offer the parish future rewards in cooling costs and flexibility in controlling temperatures in areas only when occupied. We have proceeded to make these replacements so that we can take advantage of the rebates offered at this time which will reduce our costs of the equipment and save us money in annual repair bills.
We have also been made aware of seasonal long range capital needs such as a roof replacement and repaving of the parking lot which our annual budget cannot support.
The total estimated cost of all this work is approximately $450,000.00. We are fortunate to have monies from the Advancing the Mission Fund and the sale of the Seminole House to allow us to make the commitment to start the air conditioning unit and pneumatic controls project.
All funds raised will remain at St. Bernard Parish.
- This campaign will provide for current and future families of St. Bernard Parish, perhaps including your children or grandchildren.
- In good Christian conscience we must provide updated, secure and efficient buildings in which our parishioners and ministries can thrive.
Our Mission is to:
Welcome and inspire ALL
to share Christ's love through
FAITH and SERVICE
